Honda Harmony 215 Transmission Problems
Let’s face it, the Honda harmony 215 is a great lawnmower, it’s self propelled, has more power than your standard mower and it mulches great with a killer mulching blade, but it seems like everyone is looking information on how to fix the transmission. I have watched video’s and read all kinds of forums, checked out Yahoo answers but nothing seemed to answer my question, “How do I fix my Honda harmony transmission?” See my article at www.hubpages.com
Check your air filter, when an air filter gets clogged it will starve the motor for air and cause the motor to surge. Sometimes when you tip the mower over on it’s side to look under it, oil will spill on to the air filter and cause this problem as well. Let me know what happens.

hey guys, i have an HR215 that is becoming about 8 years old now. I run normal super unleaded gas in it and every once in a while premium. Ive noticed with both gasses, unleaded the most, when you shut of the blade or take a load off the motor, it revs up and down and after about 5 seconds of revving it smooths out. i starts on the first pull and runs great cold. but as soon as it smooths out, it runs incredibly smooth
Hey glad I could help, if you just remove the drive gear the wheels should spin freely, check the adjustment on the transmission shift cable, sometimes you can adjust it and it helps engage the transmission. Right before the shift lever there are two 10mm nuts on the shift cable, loosen the one closest to the trans and tighten the nut closest to the handle bar. Hope this helps, Ed
Thanks for showing this.. self propel is basically broken on my 215, while mowing, it just seizes up while pushing without self propel on, so going to see if I can repair easy, or just remove the gear so the wheel can spin freely. Don’t really need the self propel, received mower as a gift.
